Photographs relating to the Environmental League of Massachusetts and its predecessor organizations, the Massachusetts Forestry Association, the Massachusetts Forest and Park Association, and the Environmental Lobby of Massachusetts. The organization was founded to help promote policy for the preservation of forest lands in Massachusetts. The photographs depict officers and staff of the organization; annual meetings and award ceremonies; examples of Dutch Elm Disease in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Jersey; and photographs of Massachusetts open land and wilderness taken by the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, among other subjects. Other photographers include Gary Goodman of Boston, Mass. and Peggy McMahon of Allston, Mass., among many others. Includes color photographs, color slides, and film negatives.

St 1886, c 276, s 7 provided that the Commissioners of Inland fisheries "shall be game commissioners also." RL 1902, c 91, s 2 designated them as the Board of Commissioners on Fisheries and Game. St 1919, c 350, s 39 abolished the board, replacing it with the Division of Fisheries and Game in the Department of Conservation.
